Reports to:  Executive Director, Girls on the Run Northeast Ohio

Organization and Description

Girls on the Run Northeast Ohio (GOTRNEO) is a non-profit community-based organization. The mission is to educate and prepare girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living.  Our volunteer coaches mentor girls (ages 8-15) in a 10-week after-school program that combines training for a 5K event with self-esteem enhancing, uplifting lessons.  GOTRNEO sessions integrate specific life-skills training such as healthy decision-making, dealing with bullies, contributing to the community, leadership and teamwork.  Each season culminates in a non-competitive 5K event.


Job description


The Operations Coordinator is responsible for organizing and maintaining inventory, overseeing scheduling, managing site allowances, analysis of program data and assistance with strategic planning for council.  This role will work closely with all council staff to help analyze, plan, and execute work that will further the council’s reach and impact. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, proactive, have the ability to facilitate projects and can deliver timely and effective updates to council staff.



Organize and maintain a complete inventory of all program, office and 5k supplies ensuring that all orders are placed timely with a clear system for tracking

Oversee the scheduling of all events, including working with council staff to coordinate coach trainings, mid-season meetings, keeping office calendar current and utilizing online calendar system

Analyze data for program surveys

Manage data on counties served and work with Program Manager and Volunteer Coordinator to determine outreach opportunities by identifying areas of greatest need

Review and calculate all site reimbursement requests

Administer shoe certificate program

Deliver timely and effective updates to all council staff

Provide support to Executive Director and council staff as needed



BA or BS degree, or equivalent 3-5 years of relevant administration experience

Passion for Girls on the Run mission and the ability to comprehend and effectively communicate issues surrounding empowerment, self-esteem, body image and whole-person health

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications with emphasis on Microsoft Excel

Outstanding communication skills in multiple environments and with a range of audiences (internal and external)

Strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask, prioritize and make efficient decisions.

Good critical thinking and problem solving skills

Demonstrated ability to influence, motivate and mobilize team members and business partners

Good collaborative skills

Understands and embraces diversity and inclusiveness in thought, word and actions. Exemplifies these values

Sound business and technology acumen


Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Girls on the Run (or other similar youth or wellness programs)

Non-profit management experience


Additional information about position

Part time position (approximately 15-20 hours per week) with peak hours during critical program periods.  Hours may be reduced during December and July

Requirement of 1-2 days per week in the office with flexible hours

Occasional evening and weekend hours required.  There are vacation blackout periods as relates to spring and fall seasons
