We’re thrilled to offer our program for $185 per participant. While our actual cost is $244 per participant, our generous donors and community supporters have made this subsidy possible. Your program registration fee includes all lesson materials, including GOTR curriculum, workbook/worksheets, lap counters, a GOTR t-shirt, a journal, 5K registration, a 5K finisher's medal, a 5K bib, a GOTR water bottle, and a healthy snack at every practice.

Don’t let the cost stand in the way! We are happy to offer financial assistance to all participantsLearn more about our financial assistance program by clicking here.

Our staff is happy to take your registration over the phone at (234) 206-0786.

Your registration is NOT complete unless you have reached the confirmation page that indicates the participant is either in the lottery or registered and you receive an email confirming the same. If you do not reach the confirmation page or do not receive a confirmation email, please contact our office to confirm that the registration was completed.

Refund Policy

Should you elect for any reason to withdraw your registration, a refund will be issued, less a $25 administrative fee. Withdrawals must be made no later than Friday, September 20th. No refunds will be issued after that date.

Lottery and Waitlist

Girls on the Run Northeast Ohio engages in a lottery based online registration system to ensure a fair and equal process for all girls. All girls registering during the lottery period will be entered into a lottery. If there are a greater number of registrants than the maximum allowed per team (team sizes vary by site), a lottery will be run to fill all available spots. All remaining registrants will be placed on a waitlist and will be contacted by GOTRNEO staff. Registration will reopen on a first-come, first-served basis for any spots remaining after the lottery registration period.

All registrants placed on the waitlist will be contacted by the council and provided with alternate locations where space may still be available.  The registrant can choose to transfer their registration to a different location or may remain on the waitlist in case someone placed on the roster cancels their registration for any reason. If a space opens up, the system will randomly choose from the waitlist and the registrant will be notified that they have been moved to the roster. After the 2nd lesson, anyone remaining on the waitlist will be withdrawn as no participant can be added to a roster after the 2nd lesson.

Financial Aid

The financial assistance process is included in the online registration process. Simply answer the financial assistance questions during registration, and the fee will be adjusted accordingly.

True

My girl isn't a big runner; is this program for her? OR My girl is already a skilled runner. Is this program for her?

Yes! We are much more than a running program, and every participant can benefit from the experience of building confidence through accomplishment while participating in our rich, curriculum-based, age-appropriate, interactive lessons. Expect lots of games, talking, laughing and processing in addition to running at each practice. And know that when we say run, we mean run, walk, skip, roll or push, just as long as you are moving foward!

What does the program fee include?

Your program registration fee includes all lesson materials, including GOTR curriculum, activity sheets, lap counters and more, a GOTR t-shirt, a bib entry into the season-ending 5K, a finisher's medal, a GOTR water bottle and a healthy snack at every practice.

We can't afford the program registration fee, but our child would love to participate. How does the scholarship program work?

Don't let cost stop you from participating! We are committed to making Girls on the Run accessible to all who want to particpate! Thanks to generous donors and community supporters, program scholarships are available to any family who needs it.

When does the season begin?

The spring season runs for 10 weeks from early March to mid-May (with an extra week built in to allow for spring break). The fall season runs for 8 weeks from mid-September through mid-November.

Do girls need to attend both days each week in order to register?

Yes! Since most of our teams fill up quickly, if your girl will be unable to attend all the sessions, please save room for a girl who can, and consider joining us in a future season when she can enjoy the entire program.

Is there a way for me to sponsor a participant for a season?

Yes! As a mission-driven 501(c)3, Girls on the Run relies on generous donors in order to provide more than $150,000 in program scholarships for families in need. Click here to sponsor a participant this season.

Is this program just for girls? Is there a boy's program, too?

Registration is open to any girl (female or identifies as female) at any location, unless otherwise noted. An asterisk (*) next to a site name means that the participant MUST be a student at that location. Grade levels served are also indicated and participant MUST be in the grades served to register.

Because our research strongly supports the importance of girl-inclusive space and learning environments, we do not allow students identifying as boys to participate in the program.

We believe all youth should have the opportunity to participate in programming which builds on their strengths and facilitates healthy outcomes. However, due to historical and current gender inequities, we remain dedicated to a girl-specific focus. Because of our commitment and attention to girl-specific programming, we have not conducted the appropriate research and development to offer a program of comparable rigor and effectiveness for boys.
